According to BlockBeats, on September 1st, 21 international financial institutions announced plans to establish a new company in the second half of 2026 to promote the issuance of stablecoins. The specific name will be announced separately. Initially, the company will focus on US dollar-denominated stablecoins, with plans to expand to more G7 currencies in the future, prioritizing euro-denominated stablecoins.
Participating institutions include Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, UBS, Wells Fargo, BBVA, Santander, and MUFG Bank. This stablecoin project targets the wholesale, institutional, and retail markets, and will be used in scenarios such as cross-border payments and digital asset settlement.
The group stated that its stablecoin solution will combine bank-grade compliance, governance, and institutional risk management capabilities, and plans to comply with relevant regulatory requirements such as the US GENIUS Act and the EU MiCA. The project aims to officially launch its stablecoin product in the first half of 2027.
BlockBeats reported on September 1st that Alkemya Metacore announced the completion of a $50 million pre-IPO funding round and plans to raise further funds by issuing tokenized equity ALKN. The round was led by Gumi Cryptos Capital, with participation from Maven 1 Metalayer, Joint Effects, and Tribe Capital, among others.
Alkemya Metacore possesses approximately 7 million meters of ultra-high purity nickel wire with a purity of 99.99% and a diameter of only 0.025 millimeters. It has been independently verified and valued at approximately US$1.64 billion. The assets are currently held in trust by an institution in Lugano, Switzerland.
The company plans to use the financing to process nickel wire into engineered mesh products for applications in electromagnetic shielding, aerospace and defense, marine and seawater desalination, power and industry, semiconductors, green hydrogen energy, and rare and precious metal recycling.
The ALKN token will be issued by Luxembourg-based Alkemya Metacore SCSp and is planned to be traded on regulated platforms such as Bitfinex Securities. The new ALKN offering price is $1 per token, targeting institutional and professional investors, with the offering deadline being October 15th.
According to the profit-sharing mechanism, investors' capital will be fully returned first, with a priority return calculated at 6% annual compound interest. Business profits will be split between token holders and partners at an 80:20 ratio. The company stated that tokenized securities will help it reach global investors and provide 24/7 on-chain trading channels for traditional physical assets.
