In January 2026, the entire ECC team resigned, citing being ostracized. They argued this wasn't a marginal issue, but rather a manifestation of flaws in Zcash's governance model. Furthermore, Wang Chun mentioned the serious vulnerability in Zcash's Orchard liquidity pools disclosed in May 2026. He believes that while Solana and Hyperliquid have their own controversies, they still possess real-world use cases, while Zcash's recent surge is largely due to its listing and short squeeze.
