OpenAI restructures its security team; former head of security systems departs.
According to Bijie.com, Johannes Heidecke, former head of security systems at OpenAI, has announced his departure to employees. Simultaneously, OpenAI is restructuring its security team, further merging the security and research teams. Mia Glaese, former VP of Research and Head of Alignment, will be promoted to VP of Research and Security, responsible for coordinating related work; all security teams will now report to her. Saachi Jain, who previously led the security team, will temporarily serve as head of security systems and report to Glaese. OpenAI Chief Research Officer Mark Chen stated that due to the significantly faster training frequency and shorter product release cycles, security coordination is more challenging than ever. The new organizational structure aims to allow the security team to participate earlier in model, product, and release decisions.

Data: Bitcoin Treasury's market capitalization evaporated by over $100 billion, but its holdings increased to 1.14 million Bitcoins.
According to BlockBeats, on July 11th, analyst Darkfost pointed out that since October 2025, the total market value of Bitcoin holdings by global Bitcoin treasury companies has shrunk from $396 billion to $272 billion, a loss of over $100 billion. During the same period, the total amount of Bitcoin held by these companies increased from 953,000 to 1.14 million – the market value decline was entirely driven by the price drop, not by a reduction in holdings. However, it is worth noting that since Bitcoin entered a significantly undervalued range in May of this year, the rate of increase in holdings has slowed dramatically, almost stagnating. The most intensive buying period for these companies was concentrated between November 2024 and October 2025, with holdings tripling in less than a year, and purchase prices ranging from approximately $75,000 to $125,000 – precisely in the historical high range for Bitcoin.
The current question is: now that these companies have built up significant positions at the top, will they sell at lower prices? Strategy recently initiated a Bitcoin sale; will other treasury companies follow suit, creating new selling pressure? With a current total holding of 1.14 million Bitcoins, if more companies are forced to reduce their positions to alleviate financial pressure in a depressed market, it could pose additional downside risk to Bitcoin prices.
Hedera Network appears to have been hacked; the attackers have allegedly transferred $3.7 million to Ethereum across blockchains.
According to BlockBeats, on July 11, Specter, a blockchain detective, reported that Hedera Network was suspected of being hacked. The attackers transferred over $3.7 million from Hedera Network to Ethereum via LayerZero, and the stolen funds are currently being exchanged from WBTC for ETH.
