Furthermore, investors can directly purchase tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) on Canton using stablecoins on external public chains, and Canton's native tokenization tools can also be transferred to other ecosystems for secondary market trading. Borrowers can use their crypto assets as collateral to apply for a separate loan to cover a down payment, while simultaneously receiving a standard mortgage. Ultimately, they will hold two loans with the same interest rate and repayment period, with monthly payments combined. The product complies with Fannie Mae guidelines and offers significantly lower interest rates than traditional crypto-secured loans. If the price of Bitcoin falls, the collateral will not be forcibly liquidated due to market volatility; liquidation will only occur after the borrower has been late for 60 days. For borrowers using USDC as collateral, the proceeds from the collateral can offset part of the loan interest. Coinbase One members who complete transactions through Better can receive a transaction fee rebate of up to 1% of the mortgage amount, capped at $10,000. The two companies stated that they plan to expand the eligible collateral to include tokenized stocks and fixed-income assets in the future.
