Robinhood Wallet has lowered the minimum amount for gas sponsorship from $5 to $0.50.
According to BlockBeats, on August 8th, Robinhood Crypto announced that it will reduce the minimum gas sponsorship amount for Robinhood Wallet on the Robinhood Chain from $5 to $0.50. From now on, the platform will cover gas fees for more exchange transactions, and the promotion will last until September 29th.
Robinhood announced it will lower the threshold for on-chain gas subsidies on Robinhood Chain to $0.50.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Robinhood announced on its X platform that it will lower the gas fee subsidy threshold for Robinhood Wallet on Robinhood Chain from $5 to $0.50, a reduction of up to 90%, further reducing on-chain transaction costs for users. Robinhood stated that after this adjustment, more users will be able to enjoy gas fee subsidies for swap transactions, and this will continue until September 29th. It is understood that Robinhood Wallet had previously been covering a portion of on-chain transaction fees for users through a Gas Sponsorship mechanism. This reduction in the subsidy threshold aims to increase the activity of the Robinhood Chain ecosystem and lower the barrier for users to participate in on-chain transactions.
US Treasury Secretary Bessant: The Strait of Hormuz will "become irrelevant".
Odaily Planet Daily reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessenter stated in an interview with NBC on August 6th that the Strait of Hormuz will never return to its former state. However, he emphasized that this is not the scenario Iran portrays as advantageous to it, but rather refers to the Strait of Hormuz losing its current status as a vital energy transport chokepoint. Bessenter said that within the next two years, the Strait of Hormuz will "become irrelevant," with more than 50% to 70% of the energy previously transported through the strait being transported via underground pipelines. Circle renews Coinbase USDC agreement and excludes quarterly dividends.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that stablecoin issuer Circle has renewed its USDC partnership agreement with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase on existing terms. USDC will continue to be integrated into Coinbase's various products. The company did not disclose the specific economic terms of the renewed agreement. Circle's total revenue and reserve income in the second quarter were $701 million, a year-over-year increase of 7%; the circulating supply of USDC at the end of the quarter was $73.3 billion. Currently, Circle has signed distribution agreements with more than 150 partners, providing economic incentives for the adoption and promotion of USDC. Circle CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen stated that the company has no plans to issue quarterly dividends at this time, prioritizing investment in business growth and maintaining balance sheet flexibility to support investment and strategic opportunities across different market cycles. According to BlockBeats, on August 8th, on-chain analyst Ai Yi (@ai_9684xtpa) monitored a new address that initially established a position of $3.81 million worth of ETH. Address 0x2fA…c5e1D withdrew 2000 ETH, worth $3.81 million, from Binance 4 hours ago. After two transfers, the ETH was transferred to address 0xA84…919DF. The receiving address currently holds $7.96 million worth of ETH and $1.03 million worth of LINK.
