Bessen's interest in the trillion-dollar "emergency fund" to buy US Treasury bonds boosted the market in the short term, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, and US Treasury bonds all rising.
According to BlockBeats, on August 24, the market received a short-term boost after news broke that the U.S. Treasury Department might use nearly $1 trillion of its general account funds to support the recently announced expansion of its Treasury bond repurchase program. U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant stated that such operations could even exceed this new minimum level. However, the Treasury Department did not specify at the time how it would fund these purchases.
According to HTX market data, Ethereum rose above $2,500, and Bitcoin broke through $78,000.
According to data from BIT (bit.com), U.S. stock index futures have narrowed some of their losses, with S&P 500 and Dow Jones futures currently down about 0.1%, and Nasdaq futures down about 0.4%. U.S. Treasuries continued their upward trend, with the 10-year Treasury yield falling 4 basis points to 4.70%.
According to Bitget data, spot gold has risen above $4,670 per ounce, up 1.47% on the day.

According to CNBC, two senior U.S. Treasury officials revealed that the Treasury may use its nearly $1 trillion General Treasury Account (TGA) to fund its recently announced expansion of its government bond-buying program. Using the TGA would give the Treasury greater power to influence long-term bond yields. Last week, the Treasury unexpectedly announced it would increase the repurchase of long-term "off-the-run securities" from $2 billion to at least $4 billion. Treasury Secretary Bessant stated that such operations could even exceed this new minimum. However, the Treasury did not specify how it would fund these purchases at the time. Most market participants previously believed the Treasury would raise funds by increasing the issuance of short-term Treasury bills. Using the TGA could change market perception of this plan. Treasury Secretary Bessant indicated the actual size might even exceed this new minimum threshold. However, the Treasury did not specify the source of the repurchase funds. Most market participants had anticipated the Treasury would raise funds through the issuance of short-term Treasury bills, and the aforementioned senior Treasury official did not rule out this option.

Total revenue for the week reached $21.449 million, with Hyperliquid transaction fee revenue at $19.33 million.
According to HyperliquidNews, as reported by Odaily Planet Daily, Hyperliquid generated $19.33 million in transaction fees, $671,000 in priority fees, $1.04 million in HyperEVM fuel fees, and $408,000 in auction revenue this week. Total revenue for the week was $21.449 million, all of which was used to buy back and burn Hyperliquid native tokens, or directly pay and burn Hyperliquid native tokens.
