Ethereum increases the block gas limit from 45 million to 60 million.
According to data from GasLimit.pics, following calls from users and developers to increase capacity, Ethereum's block gas limit has been raised from 45 million to 60 million. Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter announced this adjustment on the X platform, stating it was the result of a year-long effort by the community to improve the processing power of Ethereum's base layer. He wrote: "Just one year after the community began pushing for an increase in the gas limit, Ethereum is now operating below the 60 million block gas limit. This means a 2x increase in one year—and this is just the beginning." The adjustment automatically took effect on November 25th because more than half of the validators signaled their support, meeting the threshold required by Ethereum's current consensus rules. For the first time, China's share of downloads of open-source AI models has surpassed that of the United States.
According to Huoxun Finance on November 27th, a research report jointly released by MIT and HuggingFace shows that over the past year, Chinese models accounted for 17% of the total global downloads of open-source AI models, surpassing the 15.8% of those from US companies such as Google and Meta. Researchers stated that this is the first time China has led the US in this field.
