Odaily Planet Daily reports that Nasdaq-listed BTC Digital has announced a joint development and operation agreement with Aurora Energy to build an off-grid natural gas-powered computing infrastructure project in Alberta, Canada. The project aims to explore the integration of energy and AI computing power. The first phase of the project plans to construct 5–10 MW of natural gas-fired computing power facilities, utilizing local idle natural gas resources to generate electricity on-site, providing stable and low-cost power for Bitcoin mining. The project also reserves the capacity to expand to AI computing, data centers, and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. BTC Digital will provide Bitcoin mining equipment, computing power operation experience, and digital infrastructure solutions, and will prepare for the subsequent introduction of AI computing equipment and modular data centers. According to data from SoSoValue, as of 8:00 AM ET on April 6, 2026, global listed companies (excluding mining companies) saw a net purchase of $735 million in Bitcoin last week, an increase of 1,050,543% compared to the previous week. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) announced an investment of approximately $330 million to purchase 4,871 Bitcoins at a price of $67,718, bringing its total holdings to 766,970 Bitcoins. Japanese listed company Metaplanet announced an investment of $405 million to purchase 5,075 Bitcoins at a price of $79,898, bringing its total holdings to 40,177 Bitcoins. In addition, one other company purchased Bitcoin last week: UK-based Bitcoin company BHODL announced on April 2nd an investment of $68,000 to purchase one Bitcoin. As of press time, the total number of Bitcoins held by listed companies worldwide (excluding mining companies) is 1,033,280, an increase of 0.97% compared to last week, with a current market value of approximately US$71.78 billion, accounting for 5.2% of Bitcoin's circulating market capitalization.

The company plans to develop a quantum-resistant protocol based on a multi-layered hybrid cryptographic architecture. This will introduce a parallel verification mechanism on top of the existing Bitcoin transaction structure to verify both post-quantum signature algorithms and traditional signature algorithms. Under this framework, users can choose to use both ECDSA and quantum-resistant signature algorithms for dual signatures, thus achieving security redundancy before the full manifestation of quantum threats. Two oil tankers carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar appear to have abandoned their attempt to pass through the Strait of Hormuz to exit the Persian Gulf. According to ship tracking data, the Al Daayen and Rasheeda, after loading LNG at a Qatari export facility in late February, sailed east towards waters near Oman in an attempt to enter the waterway, but subsequently turned back. No oil tankers carrying LNG have passed through the Strait of Hormuz since the US-Israel strikes against Iran in late February. According to Kpler's ship data, Qatar has delivered two shipments of LNG to Kuwait in the past few weeks. These supplies likely originated from Qatari storage tanks and therefore did not require passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Ship tracking around the Persian Gulf remains uncertain due to the potential for electronic interference or the deliberate switching off of transponders by vessels navigating in high-risk areas.
