According to BlockBeats, on July 2nd, blockchain detective ZachXBT posted an update stating that since he disclosed on June 26th that AscendEX (formerly BitMax) was suspected of having liquidity problems, the trading platform has not posted any updates on the X platform for 9 consecutive days. User withdrawals have not yet been processed, but the deposit function remains open.

ZachXBT stated that he reviewed a high-value user case and found that the user had repeatedly contacted AscendEX co-founder George (Jing) Cao regarding the issue, but received no response. He advised users experiencing financial difficulties to file a complaint with law enforcement and regulatory agencies in their respective countries or regions.

Previously, on June 26th, ZachXBT issued a warning, noting that it had observed multiple user reports of withdrawal delays of several days or even weeks, or even withdrawals being unprocessable, on AscendEX. After reviewing AscendEX's known hot wallets using Arkham and TRM, ZachXBT found a lack of mainstream assets such as ETH, USDT, and SOL, suggesting the platform might be facing liquidity issues. AscendEX was founded in 2018 by George (Jing) Cao and Ariel Ling, and suffered a loss of approximately $78 million in December 2021 due to an attack by the North Korean hacking group Lazarus Group.
