The company plans to hold the relevant assets according to its Bitcoin treasury strategy and will monetize a portion of them for business development and expansion.

This application is related to the enactment of new UK digital asset regulations. In June 2021, the FCA stated that Binance's UK subsidiary, Binance Markets Limited, was prohibited from conducting regulated activities in the UK. Binance announced in 2023 that it would halt new user registrations in response to UK financial promotion regulations. A Binance spokesperson stated that they would not comment on speculation regarding the potential license application.
