Coinfest Asia Returns to Bali with Expanded Format for 2025 Edition

Coinfest Asia is set to return to Bali this August, marking another chapter for what has become Southeast Asia's most accessible crypto gathering. The two-day festival, scheduled for August 21-22 at Nuanu Creative City, expects to draw over 10,000 participants from more than 90 countries.

Having attended previous iterations of the event, the festival's appeal lies in its departure from the typical conference format that dominates the crypto event circuit. While many industry gatherings focus heavily on institutional players and insider discussions, Coinfest Asia has carved out a different niche by prioritizing accessibility and community engagement.

A Different Approach to Web3 Events

The festival's organizers have chosen "Full Moon" as this year's theme, reflecting what they see as renewed optimism in the Web3 space following recent market developments. According to Joditha, head of events at Indonesia Crypto Network, the theme represents "the turning point—where ideas break out of the dark and into the spotlight."

What distinguishes Coinfest Asia from other crypto conferences is its deliberate focus on bringing Web3 concepts to everyday users rather than exclusively catering to industry veterans. The event strikes a balance between educational content for newcomers and substantive discussions for more experienced participants.

Having moderated panel discussions at last year's event, the atmosphere was notably more relaxed and interactive compared to the often formal tone of major crypto conferences.

Consolidated Format and New Features

For 2025, organizers are implementing a unified location approach, consolidating all activities, side events, and community experiences within Nuanu Creative City.

The event lineup includes several new components designed to broaden engagement beyond traditional panel discussions. Planned activities include gaming tournaments spanning e-sports, paintball, and board games, along with what organizers describe as "metaverse clashes" that blend physical and digital experiences.

A notable addition is the Web3 Accelerator showcase, developed in partnership with Saison Capital, BRI Ventures, and Coinvestasi. This program focuses on real-world asset tokenization, building on Project Wira's identification of a potential $88 billion market opportunity for asset tokenization in Indonesia.

Speaker Lineup and Industry Participation

The confirmed speaker roster includes established figures across various Web3 sectors. Notable participants include Alex Svanevik, CEO of Nansen; Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands; Mega Septiandara, governance lead at dYdX Foundation; Kenneth Shek, head of strategy at Moca Network; Amanda Cassatt, founder and CEO of Serotonin; Saad Ahmed, head of Asia Pacific at Gemini; Victor Ji, co-founder of Manta Network; Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph; Eowyn Chen, CEO of Trust Wallet; Ella, head of APAC at Berachain; and Alice Kim, director of fintech and payments at HBAR Foundation, among others representing exchanges, DeFi protocols, and blockchain infrastructure companies.
