Binance has introduced Binance Chat , a new in-app messaging feature that folds communication, community interaction, and crypto transfers into one place, in what the company is framing as another step toward becoming a more integrated financial super app. The launch is designed to keep users inside the Binance ecosystem while they talk, share ideas, and move funds, instead of bouncing between separate apps to complete those steps.
According to Binance, the idea behind the feature is simple: crypto activity often happens in fragments. A user may see a market idea in one place, discuss it somewhere else, and then transfer funds through yet another platform. Binance Chat is meant to compress that experience into a single flow by bringing messaging and value exchange closer together inside the same app. The company says users can now connect with contacts, join conversations, manage assets, and move crypto without leaving Binance.
The new feature goes beyond basic messaging. Binance says users can add friends and family, join group discussions, share Trade Cards, send Red Packets, and make crypto payments directly within conversations. The company also says chatrooms can be accessed through Binance Square, which gives users a way to engage with creators and communities in real time. In practical terms, that means a user could discuss a market move, send a transfer, and keep the conversation going without switching screens.
Binance has also built in some guardrails around contact management. The platform says contacts are added using unique chat IDs, and people must accept a contact request before a conversation can begin. Binance says this is intended to reduce unwanted contact while still keeping the experience open enough for community interaction. The company also says Binance Chat inherits the wider account protections and in-app controls already available across the Binance platform.
A Global Blockchain Ecosystem
The feature appears to be aimed at blending social activity with financial action in a way that feels more natural for users who already spend time in creator communities and trading groups. Binance’s support material describes Binance Chat as an all-in-one social communication feature with one-to-one and group chat support, plus the ability to exchange thoughts, share trading strategies and real-time portfolios, and transfer funds with one tap. Its user guide also says users can add contacts by UID, Chat ID, or QR code, and that private chat supports sending images, videos, files, and zero-fee transfers in assets such as USDT, BNB, and BTC.
Jeff Li, Binance’s VP of Product, said, “Binance is focused on making crypto more practical for everyday use by reducing friction and keeping the experience simple and intuitive. Binance Chat brings communication, community, and crypto transfers closer together in one app experience. It’s a meaningful step toward a more connected platform where users can engage, manage assets, and move value more easily in one place.”
Li has led Binance’s product strategy since his appointment in October 2024, when the company said he would oversee global product and design teams with a focus on accelerating crypto adoption and lowering barriers to Web3 use. Binance says Chat is live now for users in all regions where the exchange operates, although some features are still being rolled out gradually.
That includes group chat creation, which may not be available to every user immediately, and crypto transfer functionality may vary depending on local availability and regional restrictions. Users can access the feature from the Chat icon on the Binance homepage or by searching for Chat in the app. The launch fits neatly into Binance’s broader pitch as a global blockchain ecosystem with a large suite of products stretching from trading and payments to education and Web3 tools.
With Binance Chat, the company is trying to make the app feel less like a place to execute transactions and more like a daily-use financial hub where conversation and action happen side by side. Whether users embrace that model will likely depend on how naturally the chat experience blends with the rest of the app, but Binance is clearly betting that the future of crypto will be more social, more integrated, and a lot less fragmented.
