PANews 3月19日消息，据金十报道，美联储主席鲍威尔周三表示，如果其继任者在5月前未能获得确认，他将继续担任美联储主席职务，其现任主席任期将于5月结束。鲍威尔表示：“如果在我担任主席一职的任期结束前，我的继任者仍未获得确认，那么我将暂时担任临时主席一职，直至继任者确定下来 。这是法律所要求的。我们已经多次这样做了，我也曾参与其中。在这种情况下，我们会继续采取这种行动。”而对于其理事任期，鲍威尔表示，在调查“彻底结束”之前无意离开理事会。与此同时，他表示，尚未就司法部调查结束后是否留在理事会做出决定。他称，将为美联储及其服务的人民做最好的事情。
