The alternative node proposes the alternative block, and the verification node verifies the alternative block, confirming that the node endorses and votes the verification result to complete the consensus of the block. VBFT consensus does not require the confirmation of all nodes in the whole network to form a consensus. Instead, in the form of collateral, the random selection of VRF(verifiable random function) is used to select some nodes in three groups among numerous nodes for verification. In this way, the expansion is realized and the speed is increased. At the same time, the combination of randomness and PoS consensus ensures the anti-attack (security) of the algorithm, and the two-thirds fault-tolerant verification method of BFT can achieve a fast consensus of blocks. The distributed ledger technology of ontology adopts a decoupled design, using the core ledger by default, and can also support NEO, Ethereum and other blockchains as the underlying layer. Users are authorized by data sources to store hash values on the chain. The integrated data sources are controlled by users themselves, and hash values can be used to verify the authenticity of data. The process of verification increases data credibility for users.

For the participants of nodes, besides the basic ONG consumption of the whole chain network system (network cost, storage cost, contract cost and other value-added services), the ontology will also take out an additional 1% ONG per year from the community incentive to motivate the participants of the consensus node cluster.

Ontology positioning is the underlying infrastructure of trust and the underlying value channel of trust. On the one hand, as the underlying infrastructure, ontology supports the development and application of various applications at the upper level.
