Satoshi Nakamoto’s symbolic statue has been stolen from its home in Lugano, Switzerland. This statue is an artistic tribute to the mysterious creator of Bitcoin ($BTC), Satoshi Nakamoto . This illusion-based artwork was designed by Valentina Picozzi, an Italian artist. Its disappearance has ignited emotions across the crypto community worldwide, and 0.1 $BTC bounty is being offered for its safe return.

The piece of art is renowned for its ethereal visual of Satoshi, now stripped disappearance into just a digital code. During a Plan B Bitcoin Forum in October 2024, this statue was launched. Lugano aims to become a leading Bitcoin hub across Swiss-Tether, considering the statue as the beacon of the city’s vision.

Satoshigallery to Offer Bitcoin Bounty to Ignite Global Hunt

Gritto, an X user, has reported the theft first, speculating that the statue might be discarded into the adjacent lack of its displayed location. Satoshigallery, a creative project handled by Picozzi, has appeared on social media, responding swiftly while expressing their resolve and dismay.

They posted, “You can steal our symbol, but you will never be able to steal our souls”. Satoshigallery has announced a reward of 0.1 $BTC as an effort to recover the stolen piece. The person who will provide any information regarding the recovery of the piece of art will get a reward of 0.1 $BTC.

The Recovery of Satoshi Becomes a Global Mission

The steel of the statue did not mitigate the emotions and spirits behind this creation. Besides this, this disappearance has strengthened their resolve. This theft has reaffirmed Satoshigallery’s commitment to creating the statue and putting it in 21 locations around the world. This affirmation represents the endured legacy of Bitcoin and the ideas it highlights.

The missing legacy is a great loss for Lugano as well as a wake-up call for the movement related to transparency and unity. One question is still there beside the continued search, that is, where is Satoshi?
