Immutable X 技术核心是 ZK Rollup 扩容方案，ZK Rollup 的数据可用性保持在链上，满足了低频大额资产转账的绝对安全需求，这套扩容方案也是目前V神认可度最高的方案之一。Immutable X 所使用的 ZK Rollup 技术是与 StarkWare 合作开发的，使用 StarkWare 的 StarkEx 验证器。Immutable 团队为用户提供了很多方便，比如发明了「Volition」系统，使得用户可以自行选择在 Validium 和 ZK Rollup 中选择 ZK 扩容方案。Validium 的数据可用性保持在链下，其特点为无数据验证高效性，满足游戏玩家的轻资产、高频次的交易需求。
使用 Validity Proof 意味着一旦证明被链上接受，用户就可以立即确认这些交易是有效的，不可改变的，资金从第 2 层转移到第 1 层时，不会有任何延迟，因为 ValidityProof 验证了资金，用户可以立刻提款。所以，ZK Rollup 技术从而优化了 Optimistic Rollup 取款时间较长的劣势。通过 ZK Rollup，当资金从第 2 层转移到第 1 层时，不会有任何延迟，因为 ZK Rollup 合约接受的有效性证明已经验证了资金。
