BitTorrent(New)(BTTC)

BTT is a blockchain token issued by the BitTorrent project based on the Tron network. It is used to expand the BitTorrent protocol to establish an Internet ecosystem of network bandwidth and network storage based on token incentives.

The BitTorrent protocol has entered into a strategic partnership with the TRON blockchain protocol. The cooperation between the two makes the TRON protocol the world's largest decentralized ecosystem and the BitTorrent protocol the world's largest distributed application.

BitTorrent (BTT) smart contract swap, token increment. The old BTT token will be renamed and exchanged with the new BTT token at a ratio of 1:1000. At the same time, the total supply of BTT tokens will increase from 990,000,000,000 to 990,000,000,000,000. The new token after the renaming is called BTT, and the old token is renamed BTTOLD (BTTOLD represents the old BTT token from now on).

The new BTT token will be used in the upcoming BitTorrent Chain ecosystem. The main use cases are as follows:

1. Become a validator of the BTTC network;
2. Stake BTTC to get rewards;
3. Participate in the governance of the BTTC community;
4. Use BTTC's native token to pay gas fees.

After the BitTorrent Chain mainnet is launched, BTTOLD and BTT will coexist for a period of time. The contract to exchange the old token for the new token will be valid forever, and users can exchange at any time. Exchanges that currently do not support exchange can continue to support BTTOLD exchange. BTTOLD tokens will maintain their original use cases before being converted to BTT, including:

1. Pay the fees for storing files in the BTFS system;
2. BTFS mining;
3. Increase the download speed of the BitTorrent protocol on BitTorrent Speed.
